Classroom Corner- Week of Sept. 22nd

6th Grade

Religion - This week, we are reading one of my favorite Bible stories- the story of how Esau traded his birthright for a bowl of stew!  We will also discuss God's covenant with Noah, and how Catholics can make commitments to our faith.  The students have an essay due on Friday along with their normal test and Chapter Review (Chapter 3).

Social Studies - This week, we are playing Jeopardy and then taking our chapter test.  The test is over Chapter 1 and is on Wednesday.  Make sure your student studies!

Health - We are taking our test on sun safety today (Monday).  Then, we will start a unit on healthy living including physical fitness and nutrition.

Language Arts - This week, we will be working on practicing our capitalization rules and other grammar work through our DOL activities.

Reading - We are continuing to read Paint by Magic.  The story is getting creepier by the minute as Connor is swept away to the 1920's.  Ask your student to fill you in!
